February 4, 2021 MinutesTransportation Safety Advisory Commission Minutes Thursday, February 4,20215:30 P.M. The Transportation Safety Advisory Commission (TSAC) convened for a meeting on February 4, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center North 3501 Morning Drive, Schertz, Texas 78154. TSAC Commissioners Present: Bristow, Brandon Cornelisse, Chuck Heyward, Ferrando Moody, Mark Ragsdale, Roy Sullivan, John Staff Present: Brian James, Assistant City Manager Jennifer Jones, Administrative Manager Charles Kelm, Assistant City Manager Doug Letbetter, Public Works Manager Kathy Woodlee, City Engineer Suzanne Williams, Public Works Director CALL TO ORDER AT 5:32pm by Kathy Woodlee ROT.T. CALL HEARING OF RESIDENTS There were no residents signed up to address the Commission for this meeting. 1. Minutes: Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of the November 5, 2020 Meeting. A motion was made by Commissioner Mark Moody to approve the minutes of the November 5, 2020 Meeting. Second by Commissioner Chuck Cornelisse. Motion passed. Vote was unanimous. 2. Traffic Study Concerns: Mr. Kelm gave update on Fairhaven traffic study concerns. Staff wishes to step back and look further into the issue of the odd counts that have been coming to the surface. Maps shown and count numbers discussed with Commission in order to show areas of concern. Once staff gets clarification on numbers of counts, we will bring information back to Commission for updated presentation and further discussion. 3. Schertz Parkway Crosswalk: Staff explained details of this specific crosswalk request and the reasons as to why staff is issuing a denial to this particular request. 4. Police Department Traffic Presentation: Tabled until the next meeting due to Police Department's absence. 02 -04 -2021 Minutes 5. Staff Comments: City staff gave the following updates: • Further discussed a number of traffic speed studies including Randolph Blvd, Oak Run at Oak Ridge, and Grove Park. • Gave an update on the Stop Sign Ordinance. 6. Future Agenda Items Requests and/or Comments by Commissioners: • Commissioner Cornelisse applauds the changes made to the left lane on FM3009 approaching the bridge at I1-135. • Commissioner Sullivan is wondering if we can ask TxDOT to take a look at the left turn lane headed Southeast on FM3009, turning left onto Frontage Road I -35 North. Not requesting to be Agenda Item, just concerned with recent truck rollovers and thought they may be able to take the into consideration with next I -35 project.. 7. Adjournment: Motion made by Commissioner Mark Moody to adjourn the meeting. Second by Commissioner Bill Bowers. Motion passed. Vote was unanimous. Meeting adjourned at 6:38 PM.
