SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 9, 1974
The Schertz City Council convened in Special Session
Tuesday, April 9, 1974 in the Council Chambers, 608 Live
Oak Road at 7:01 P.M. with the following members present:
Mayor Robert C. Bueker, presiding; Mayor Pro-Tern Schwartz,
Mrs. Funk, Mr. Sandifer, Mrs. Koch and Mr. Koole.
#1 CANVASSING RETURNS OF ELECTIONS OF APRIL 6, 1974:
A. City Officer Election. Mr. Arnold informed the
Council he had talked with
Attorney Harris, who advised to canvass only the returns for
the Mayor's race since there had been a "Call for a Recount
of the Paper Ballots" of all affected candidates by Mr. Ray-
mond Tabor, candidate for alderman.
After discussion by the Council and on the agreement of both
candidates for Mayor, it was decided to recount the ballots
in the mayor's race also.
B. City Home Rule Charter Election. Mr. Schwartz
moved to accept
the Home Rule Charter vote as canvassed: For -- 859 votes;
Against - 148 votes. Mrs. Funk seconded the motion with all
members voting aye.
#2 ORDINANCE: Mr. Arnold read Ordinance No. 74-J-14:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ EXTENDING THE
EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF SUCH CITY AND
DESIGNATING SUCH TRACTS OF LAND INCLUDED WITHIN
SUCH CITY TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION.
Mr. Schwartz moved to adopt Ordinance No. 74-J-14 accepting
E.T.J. letter of intent on the 87.58 acre tract of land be-
longing to Mrs. Rosie Fey et al. Mrs. Koch seconded the
motion with all members voting aye.
Mr. Schwartz recv~uended two names for the Recount
Committee with the Council naming the third member.
Mrs. Koch moved to accept the following three people as
members of the Recount Committee with Rev. Bob Walker
acting as Chairman: Rev. Bob Walker, Mr. Weldon Willbanks,
and Mr. M.G. Willman. Mr. Koole seconded the motion with all
members voting aye.
Mr. Sandifer moved the meeting be adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
Mrs. Funk seconded the motion with all members voting aye.

Saturday, April 13, 1974 in the Council Chambers, 608
Live Oak Road at 10:00 A.M. with the following members
present: Mayor Robert C. ~ueker, presiding; Mayor Pro-
Tem Schwartz, Mrs. Koch, Mrs. Funk and Mr. Sandifer.
Absent: Mr. Tom Koole.
Mayor Bueker presented the Tally Sheet from the
Recount CU1ll1llittee of the April 6, 1974 City Officers
Election for canvassing.
Mrs. Koch moved to accept the official recount as
presented. Mr. Schwartz seconded the motion with all
members voting aye.
