Presentations should be limited to no more than 5 minutes. Each person should fill out the Speaker’s register prior to the meeting located in the lobby. The Commission can only discuss items that are on the agenda . Discussion by the Commission of any item not on the agenda shall be limited to statements of specific information given in response to any inquiry, a recitation of existing policy in response to an inquiry, and/or a proposal to place the item on a future agenda . The presiding officer, during the Hearing of Residents portion of the agenda, will call on those persons who have signed up to speak in the order they have registered. If you have any handouts to provide for the Commission, please visit a City Staff member prior to the meeting. ITEM 1 - MINUTES Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of the April 6 , 2023, TSAC Meeting ITEM 2 – UPDATE ON VARIOUS REQUESTS AND STUDIES a.Bench Trail Street Lights b)Speed Concerns Follow up - Dimrock 824 Dimrock 932 Dimrock 1132 Dimrock Greenshire 2827 Wild Cherry 2842 Wild Cherry Crest Oak 1410 Crest Oak 1320 Crest Oak Jonas Woods 333 Frank Baum Dr 412 Frank Baum Dr 381 Frank Baum Dr Data Pending Rhine Valley Westchester Columbia Oak and Marilyn Livingston and Red Tip ITEM 2 – UPDATE ON VARIOUS REQUESTS AND STUDIES DIMROCK PD Speed Spy Deployed for additional data collection DIMROCK EXPLANATION •1132 Dimrock exceeds the 85% at 29.6 MPH and barely exceeds the 500 cars needed at 556 average cars per day. •This is due to a straight long roadway that comes off FM 3009 and leads to FM 3009 with no stop signs till you get to Kline Circle which is approximately 1660’ from FM 3009. The other two locations at 824 and 932 there are stop signs every few blocks that slow them down. So, the 824 and 932 Dimrock does not meet the speed hump qualifications . SOLUTIONS ? •Make sure there is sufficient speed limit signs/with orange flags on top •Rumble strips •Police presence •Do not recommend a speed hump yet •Further study recommended FRANK BAUM DR. (JONAS WOODS) EXPLANATION •Frank Baum Drive – Traffic counts show no consistent speeding issue SOLUTIONS ? •Few, random speeding events – traffic calming efforts not warranted •Periodic PD presence recommended WILD CHERRY (GREENSHIRE) 2827 Wild Cheery 2842 Wild Cheery WILD CHERRY (GREENSHIRE) EXPLANATION •Wild Cherry data concerns – Counts are inconsistent between locations only approximately 200 feet apart SOLUTIONS ? •Traffic study recount CREST OAK 1320 Crest Oak 1410 Crest Oak CREST OAK EXPLANATION •Crest Oak – street segment is not a typical local street segment with only one property fronting it. Consistent speeding throughout traffic study. Citizen requests to increase speed limit. SOLUTIONS ? •Staff to evaluate sight distances at intersections to confirm safety •Increase speed limit to 25 MPH c.Request for evaluation of 4-Way Stop at Aero and Oak (Data Pending) d.Request for evaluation of 4-Way Stop (to consider removal) on Woodland Oaks at Kline Circle e.Request for Deaf Child Sign on Turquoise (Data Pending) f.Traffic Signal Warrant Study at Pecan and Schertz Parkway (Referred to Consultant – Data Collected) g.Mobile Villa Estates – Concern of traffic and speeds in subdivision (study pending) ITEM 2 – UPDATE ON VARIOUS REQUESTS AND STUDIES h.
