RESOLUTION NO.
A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ AND THE CITY OF
CIBOLO ESTABLISHING A COMMON BOUNDARY FOR FUTURE AREAS OF
GROWTH, INCLUDING THE RELEASE OF CERTAIN LAND FROM THE
EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO TO
THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITIES OF SCHERTZ AND
CIBOLO AND RELATED MATTERS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cibolo has previously petitioned the City of San Antonio
for the release of certain lands north of IH 10 and east of Weir Road from the extraterritorial jurisdiction of
the City of San Antonio; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz will be petitioning the City of San Antonio for the
release of certain lands north of IH 10, east of FM 1518, south of Lower Seguin Road and west of the
centerline of Cibolo Creek from the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of San Antonio; and
WHEREAS, the area between Weir Road and the centerline of Cibolo Creek is being requested to
be released by both cities; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Schertz and Cibolo would like to establish a common boundary between
the municipalities for the area being requested to be released from the extraterritorial jurisdiction from the
City of San Antonio.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Schertz hereby establishes the centerline of Cibolo Creek as the eastern
boundary of the City's jurisdiction in respect to the release of those certain lands located north of IH 10,
east of FM 1518, south of Lower Seguin Road and west of the centerline of Cibolo Creek from the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of San Antonio.
SECTION 2. The City of Cibolo hereby amends its previous resolution requesting the release of that
certain land north of IH 10 and east of Weir Road from the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of San
Antonio and establishes the centerline of Cibolo Creek as the western boundary of the City's jurisdiction
with respect to the release of said lands.
SECTION 3. The City Managers of the City of Schertz and Cibolo are hereby authorized to execute all
documents necessary to accomplish the purposes of this resolution.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its final adoption by both cities.
