A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
CERTIFYING AND DECLARING THAT THE CANDIDATES WHO
FILED FOR MAYOR AND FOR PLACES 1 AND 2 ON CITY
COUNCIL, FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION OF MAY 6, 2000,
ARE HEREBY ELECTED.
WHEREAS, a General Election was called for May 6, 2000 for the
purpose of electing a Mayor and Councilmembers for Places 1 and 2 on Council;
and,
WHEREAS, only one candidate filed for Mayor, only one candidate filed
for Place 1 on Council and only one candidate filed for Place 2 on Council, and
each of these candidates met all the required deadlines and qualifications for
filing; and,
WHEREAS, according to the Election laws, if all candidates are
unopposed, then an election does not have to be held and those candidates are
declared to be elected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT, the City Council of the City of Schertz hereby certifies and
declares that Hal Baldwin is hereby elected to the office of Mayor, Norma Head is
hereby elected to Place 1 on City Council and Joe Potempa is hereby elected to
Place 2 on City Council.
