A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
CHANGING THE STREET NAMES OF BUSH BUCK WAY TO
WOODBRIDGE WAY, GEMSBUCK HILL TO COVERED
BRIDGE, AND GEMSBUCK FALLS TO CEDAR BRIDGE IN
UNIT 1 OF WOODBRIDGE SUBDIVISION; ALSO CHANGING
THE STREET. NAMES OF GAZELLE CLIFF TO ROSEMAN
BRIDGE, GAZELLE FOREST TO HOLLIWELL BRIDGE,
IMPALA SPRING TO MCBRIDE BRIDGE, AND GAZELLE
LAKE TO CUTLER BRIDGE IN UNIT 2 OF WOODBRIDGE
SUBDIVISION.
WHEREAS, several property owners who have contracts for homes t9 be
built in Woodbridge Subdivision have petitioned the City of Schertz to change the
already selected street names because they feel they are difficult to spell, difficult
to pronounce, and have no relationship to the subdivision name; and
WHEREAS, these same property owners who have contracts for homes
to be built in Woodbridge Subdivision feel the already selected street names will
cause difficulty for the mail carriers to deliver the mail accurately due to the fact
the automated system used by the Postal Service focuses on the first word of the
street names; and,
WHEREAS, the Schertz Post Office was contacted and has expressed no
objection to the street name changes; and,
WHEREAS, these same property owners who have contracts for homes
to be built in the Woodbridge Subqivision would like the street names to relate to
famous wooden covered bridges ibecause they feel that would better represent
the name of the subdivision; and
WHEREAS, public hearings have been held by the Planning and Zoning
Commission and the City COt.Jncil; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TESAS:
THAT, in Unit 1 of Woodbridge Subdivision, the street name of Bushbuck
Way is hereby changed to Woodbridge Way; that the street name of Gernsbuck
Hill is hereby changed to Covered Bridge; and the street name of Gemsbuck
Fatls is hereby changed to Cedar Bridge; and further, that in Unit 2 of
Woodbridge Subdivision, the street name of Gazelle Cliff is hereby changed to
Roseman Bridge; the street name of Gazelle Forest is hereby changed to
Holliwell Bridge; the street name of Impala Spring is hereby changed to McBride
Bridge; and the street name of Gazelle lake is hereby changed to Cutler Bridge.
