RESOLUTION NO. 00-12-10
A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
OFFICIALLY CANCELING THE GENERAL ELECTION CALLED
FOR MAY 6, 2000.
WHEREAS, a General Election was called for May 6, 2000 for the
purpose of electing a Mayor and Councilmembers for Places 1 and 2 on Council;
and,
WHEREAS, only one candidate filed for Mayor, only one candidate filed
for Place 1 on Council and only one candidate filed for Place 2 on Council; and,
WHEREAS, according to the Election laws, if all candidates are
unopposed, then an election does not have to be held and those candidates are
declared to be elected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT, the City Council of the City of Schertz hereby officially cancels
the General Election called for May 6,2000.
