TSAC 08-02-2007 TRANSPORTATION SAFETY ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES August 2, 2007 The Transportation Safety Advisory Commission (TSAC) Convened on Thursday August 2, 2007 at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers Workshop Conference Room, 1400 Schertz Parkway Bldg 4, Schertz, Texas. 1. Call to order at 6:30 p.m. Members not present: Stephen Bish Joseph Ward Members present: Andy Bores-Chairman Patricia Ramirez - Vice Chairman Tracy Bean Max Hernandez Ronald White, Sr. Larry Franklin Christopher Coronado David Scagliola Sam Willoughby, Public Works Director Steve Starr, Police Chief Don Taylor, City Manager 2. Introduction of TSAC members 3. Hearing of residents. Skip Grove - Agenda # 5 Ralph Hogue - Agenda #5 Robert Brockman - Arrow needed on signs where crosswalk is - Randolph Ave. and Tree limbs on Schertz Pkwy where school zone lights are, needs city's help to trim up. Deaf Child areas need to be reviewed. 4. Approval of Minutes Motion to Accept July Minutes - Patricia Ramirez Second: Larry Franklin -All Ayes- 5. Discussion and possible action regarding traffic issues on Rooster Run in the Kramer Farm Subdivision. Sam Willoughby presented information regarding traffic study in the area. David Scagliola indicated that there is not a speed limit sign located in the area. Parking issues and street blockages were also discussed. Motion to Close - Patricia Ramirez Second: Max Hernandez -All Ayes- 6. Review and discuss Speed Hump Ordinance TSAC members reviewed ordinance and discussed different issues. Motion to Close - Patricia Ramirez Second: Max Hernandez -All Ayes- 7. Discussion and possible action regarding placement of stop sign at Schertz Parkway and Live Oak Road. Sam Willoughby reported that the stop sign was moved up 12 feet and that the stop line will be moved up as well. Area has been planned for a future signal light. Motion to Close - Tracy Bean Second: Larry Franklin -All Ayes- 8. Discussion and possible action regarding article in Schertz Tales. Brad Bailey will be doing an article per Don Taylor. Steve Starr will submit TSAC reminder of the month each month to Brad for publication. Permanent agenda item - no action required. 9. City Council Update David Scagliola briefed the commission on the ongoing issues being discussed by City Council. Permanent agenda item - no action required. 10. General discussion items by Commission Members for inclusion on next month's agenda or items for Public Works Director information and action.
