TRANSPORTATION SAFETY ADVISORY COMMISSION
MINUTES
November 2, 2006
The Transportation Safety Advisory Commission (TSAC) Convened on
Thursday November 2, 2006 at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers Workshop
Conference Room, 1400 Schertz Parkway Bldg 4, Schertz, Texas.
1. Call to order at 6:30 p.m.

2. Introduction of TSAC members
3. Review and Approval of Minutes: September 7,2006
Minutes Approved.
4. Hearing of residents.
Robert Brockman
Christopher Coronado
Robert Brockman asked if Shawn Vandenberg was still a member of
TSAC. Andy Bores said that Mr. Vandenberg is still a member of
TSAC. Mr. Brockman said that on Schertz Parkway at Curtiss
Avenue, sign does not indicate that a right turn is allowed.
Recommends 4th arrow be placed on sign to allow for a right turn.
Public Works will make the correction to the sign per Mr. Brockman's
recommendation. Mr. Brockman also inquired about parking on Tri-
County Business Park, he said with trucks parked along the road
visibility is poor. The trucks should not be parking where there are
no parking signs.
5. Discussion and possible action on traffic safety on Circle Oak Dr. in the
Oak Forest Subdivision.
This item will be carried over to the next meeting.
6. Discussion and possible action on traffic safety on Brook Hollow in the
Wynnbrook Subdivision.
Sam Willoughby said that the Police Department would look into this
issue. Frank Johnson said that residents are still blocking the
sidewalks with their vehicles. This item will be on the next month's
agenda.
7. Discussion and possible action to fill student vacancy on TSAC.
Andy Bores said that Chris Coronado from Samuel Clemens High
School has showed interest in being on the commission. Frank
Johnson nominated Chris Coronado to fill the student vacancy on
TSAC; it was seconded by James MacSorley and approved by all.
Andy Bores will send a letter of recommendation to City Council.
8. Discussion and possible action on keeping City Council informed of TSAC
projects.
David Scagoliola presented a tracking sheet for TSAC to use on the
different items on the agenda, also the tracking sheet would help
keep City Council up to date on the status of the items on the
agenda. Pat Ramirez mentioned changing the minute's format and
the agenda format. Cindy Raleigh said that there would a couple of
different samples of the minutes format and agenda format for the
members to decide which would be better. This item will be on the
next month's agenda.
9. General discussion items by Commission Members for inclusion on next
month's agenda or items for Public Works Director information and
action.
David Harris, the new Assistant City Manager introduced himself to
TSAC members.
Frank Johnson wanted to know why the driveway was never cut so
motorist can access McDonalds and Valero from the HEB parking lot.
Sam Willoughby said he would check into this issue. Mr. Johnson
also wanted to know why the driveways were not cut between Bill
Millers, Schlotzsky's, Sonic and Taco Cabana. Sam Willoughby said
that this issue is for planning and zoning department.
James MacSorley said that he would not be at the January 7,2006
meeting.
Sam Willoughby said that City Council passed the no parking
ordinance on Dietz Road by Watts Elementary School and also on
Inglewood Dr. by Wilder Intermediate.
Andy Bores suggested canceling the December 7, 2006 meeting, due
the holiday season. All members agreed to cancel the December
meeting. The cancellation will be posted.

Meeting was adjourned at 7: 10p.m. The next meeting will be on
January 4,2006 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers Workshop
Conference Room.
