A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING A CHANGE IN LOCATION FOR
THE CITY'S POLLING PLACE FROM THE FIRE STATION
AT 604 LIVE OAK ROAD TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER
AT 1400 LIVE OAK ROAD AND MAKING THE EFFEC-
TIVE DATE FOR THIS CHANGE NOVEMBER 15, 1977.
WHEREAS, the City sees the need for a larger facility to
accomodate the voting citizenery; and
WHEREAS, the new Community Center is of sufficient size to
accomodate all polling facilities for present and future needs; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to set an effective
date for a polling place change; and
WHEREAS, the City further recognizes that a change in
location of the polling place will not deny or abridge any person or
persons of the right to vote on the account of race, sex or color; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS
That the official polling place of the City of Schertz, Texas be changed
from its present location at the Fire Station on 604 Live Oak Road to the
new polling place in the Community Center on 1400 Live Oak Road.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
That the effective date for the formal change of location be November 15,
1977, thus allowing for sufficient time prior to an election for notifi-
cation to all citizens of Schertz.
