NO. 1010- NEED FOR CITY PLANNING
A RESOLUTION
STATING THE NEED FOR CITY PLANNING, PRESCRIBING THE METHOD OF
FINANCING SUCH PLANNING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
OONTRACT THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz is in an unprecedented growth pattern that
appears likely to continue at its present or at an even increased pace
in the near future and,
WHEREAS, the continued growth of said city affects the social structure of
the existing community and disrupts the normal course of social develop-
ment without proper planning and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz is desirous of engaging
planning consultants to provide for comprehensive development of the City
of Schertz and,
WHERRAS, the Texas Department of Community Affairs and the firm of Marmon,
Mok, and Green, Inc. have presented a Comprehensive Planning Contract to
the City of Schertz that is acceptable to the city council of said city,
now therefore; .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS THAT:
the City of Schertz execute a Comprehensive Planning Contract with the
Texas Department of Community Affairs for completion of a comprehensive
plan by April 30, 1972.
