RESOLUTION NO. 74-R-2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, AUTHORI";.
RIZING A REQUEST FOR LOCAL PARK PLAN-
NING ASSISTANCE FROM THE TEXAS PARKS
AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz is currently lacking
adequate community recreation facilities; and;
WHEREAS, land and limited funds have been made
available through the local Urban Renewal Agency for the
development of a City park and recreation area; and
WHEREAS, no long range plans exist for the total
development of the site, and such plans are needed in
order to assure a quality neighborhood park;
WHEREAS, the City has limited staff and finances
available to formulate long-range development of other
areas within its boundaries which are suitable as park
facilities;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS that:
This City Council hereby requests park planning
assistance from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department,
as available through its local Parks Planning Assistance
Service; and, vests the Mayor of the City of Schertz
with full authority to act for purposes of this request,
and to cooperate in behalf of the City in working with
Texas Park and Wildlife Representatives.
