PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
OCTOBER 15, 2002
The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission convened in special session on October 15, 2002 at
6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Complex at the Bob Andrews Conference Room, 1400 Schertz Parkway,
Schertz, Texas.

1. Call To Order: Chairman Richmond called the meeting to order at 6: 10 p.m.
2. Citizens Input other than an Agenda Item: There were no citizens present to address the
Commission.
3. Discussion: On an annexation strategy:
City Manager Mark Marquez updated the Commission on the timeline to take action on any proposed
annexation. Commissioners received information from the City Attorney regarding what percentage of
acres can be annexed.
The parcels being considered for annexation are as follows:
1. Rittiman tract.
2. Eckhardt Road (97 acres - Gifford) to southern ETJ.
3. Parcel south of Scenic Hills.
4. Eckhardt Road to eastern ETJ.
5. Lower Seguin Road to end ofETJ.
6. FM 1518 to Cibolo Creek (Lower Seguin to IH 10).
7. Cibolo Creek to Santa Clara Road.
8. Parcels along IH 35 North.
9. Land swap with Garden Ridge at FM 2252
The Commission agreed to place these items on a future agenda for discussion and recommendation to
the City Council.

5. Adjournment: There being no further business, Chairman Richmond adjourned the meeting at
7:35 p.m.
