A RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING THE CITY'S DESIRE TO ASSIST AND
ENCOURAGE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH
SEVEN YEAR ANNEXATION MORATORIUMS, AND
PLACING THE BURDEN OF EXTRATERRITORIAL
UTILITY CONSTRUCTION UPON THE INDUSTRY
INVOLVED.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz feels that industrial development
in this area is desirable, and
WHEREAS, such industrial development would be greatly beneficial
to this area, through additional employment and income, and
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz, Texas is thus in favor of positive
assistance and encouragement to promote industrial development;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, that
l. The City of Schertz is willing to assist extraterritorial
industrial development by considering the granting of a
seven year annexation moratorium period to the land under
development; and
2. The City of Schertz, believes that the burden of land
development, such as utility installation and street
construction rests with the expanding industry or land
developer.
