A RESOLUTION
ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR THE FORFEITURE OF
MEMBERSHIP ON THE CITY'S VARIOUS BOARDS, COM-
MISSIONS AND COMMITTEES.
WHEREAS, there is no policy for the various boards, com-
missions and committees on attendance requirements or other reasons for the
forfeiture of membership: NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, that
SECTION 1.
Members of boards, commissions and committees shall forfeit their membership
upon:
A. Final conviction of a felony or offenses involving moral turpitude.
B. Ceasing to be a resident of the City.
C. Failure to regularly attend meetings without good cause, which
sha 11 be illness, temporary di sabi 1 i ty, absence from Guadalupe
County or family emergency. There shall be presumption of
regular failure to attend when three consecutive meetings are
missed.
SECTION 2.
It shall be the responsibility of the chairman of said board, commission or
committee to inform the City Manager, by letter, of a member's possible for-
feiture of membership, for the transmi tta 1 to the City Counci 1 for thei r
action.
