A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ TEXAS
REQUESTING THAT THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS
AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IMPROVE FARM TO MARKET
ROAD 3009 BY WIDENING SAID ROAD AND MAKING SUCH
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS TO ENHANCE DRAINAGE AND TRAFFIC
FLOW AND REQUESTING COMMISSIONER'S COURT OF GUADALUPE
COUNTY TO SUPPORT THIS RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, Farm to Market Road 3009 is a major thoroughfare
between Interstate 35 and Farm to Market Road 78; and
WHEREAS, Major residential and business development is taking
place in the City of Schertz and placing greater traffic demands on
Farm to Market Road 3009; and
WHEREAS, the increasing traffic flow onto Farm to Market Road
3009 is a threat to the safety of our citizens; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation
be encouraged to take all ,necessary actions to improve Farm to Market Road
3009 between Interstate 35 and Farm to Market Road 78 as soon as possible
to insure the safety and welfare of all c iti zens that wi 11util i ze Farm
to Market Road 3009.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT the City Council request that the Commissioner's Court
of Guadalupe County support this Council in our efforts to protect our
citizens by petitioning the Texas Department of Highways and Public Trans-
portation to make the required improvements to Farm to Market Road 3009.
