A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
SUPPORTING A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF CIBOLO, TEXAS,
REQUESTING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO FARM TO MARKET ROAD
1103 BY WIDENING SAID ROAD AND TO MAKE SUCH REPAIRS TO
FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1103 SO AS TO IMPROVE THE FLOW OF
TRAFFIC AND PROVIDE GREATER SAFETY FOR THOSE PERSONS
DRIVING ON FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1103.
WHEREAS, Farm to Market Road 1103 has become a major thorough-
fare between Interstate Highway 35 and Farm to Market Road 78; and
WHEREAS, industrial and housing development in the City of
Cibolo will cause increased demand upon the use of Farm to Market Road II
1103; and
WHEREAS improvements to Farm to Market Road 1103 are required
at the earliest date by the Texas Department of Highways and Public Trans-
portation to meet the demands being placed on Farm to Market Road 1103;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, does hereby
support a resolution by the City of Cibolo, Texas, requesting that the
Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation take into consideration
the planned and projected growth of the City of Cibolo and the growth in the
surrounding area which is causing Farm to Market Road 1103 to become a major
thoroughfare; and
THAT the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation
begin making improvements to Farm to Market Road 1103 by whatever means
necessary to insure said road will accommodate the present and projected
traffic on Farm to Market Road 1103 and that the widening of Farm to Market
Road 1103 is considered to be at least one of the requirements necessary
to provide increased traffic safety; and
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, does request
that the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation begin their
study for improvements on Farm to Market Road 1103 at the earliest possible
date.
