A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
SUPPORTING A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF CIBOlO, TEXAS,
REQUESTING THE GUADALUPE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
AUTHORIZE IMPROVEMENTS TO DIETZ ROAD AND BORGFElD
ROAD BY WIDENING SAID ROADS AND TO MAKE SUCH REPAIRS
TO DIETZ ROAD AND BORGFElD ROAD TO IMPROVE THE FLOW
OF TRAFFIC AND PROVIDE GREATER SAFETY FOR THOSE PER-
SONS DRIVING ON DIETZ ROAD AND BORGFElD ROAD.
WHEREAS, Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road are becoming major
thoroughfares into the City of Cibolo; and
WHEREAS, industrial and housing development in the City
of Cibolo will cause increased demand upon the use of those roads;
and
WHEREAS, improvements to Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road
are required at the earliest date to meet the demands being placed
on those roads; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas does
hereby support a resolution by the City of Cibolo, Texas, request-
ing that the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court take into consid-
eration the planned and projected growth of the City of Cibolo and
the growth in the surrounding area which is causing Dietz Road and
Borgfeld Road to become major thoroughfares; and
THAT the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court begin
making improvements to Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road by whatever means
necessary to insure said road will acc~modate the present and pro-
jected traffic on Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road and that the widening
of Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road is considered to be at least one of
the requirements necessary to provide increased traffic safety; and
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, does
request that the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court begin their
study for improvements of Dietz Road and Borgfeld Road at the earliest
possible date.
