A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, APPROVING A RISK CONTROL MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF SCHERTZ
WHEREAS, The efficiency of any operation can be
measured directly by its ability to control loss - accidents
resulting in personal injury and damage to property and equipment
represents needless suffering and waste. The City has a
responsibility to provide the safest conditions and equipment for
all employees, as well as to conserve tax dollars; and
WHEREAS, The City Manager is responsible for the
overall staff direction and administration of the City accident
prevention program; department heads, supervisors and employees
are responsible for the necessary implementation of guidelines
and rules within each of the departments; and
WHEREAS, The City Manager, department heads and
supervisors are directly responsible for the actions of their
employees. Your employees are expected to follow safe practices,
adhere to safety rules, and support the program established. Each
employee of the City must make every effort to reduce the costly
and unnecessary burden of accidents, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT a risk control management system is hereby
instituted.
