A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE RECOGNITIION OF THE
TEXAS MUNICIPAL CLERKS CERTIFICATION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS,

The Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program

WHEREAS, said program
administered by City Clerks with

was initiated, designed and
the professional organization;
WHEREAS, 12,000 City Officials have participated and
benefited from this program, which has and continues to remain
educationally and professionally responsive to the ever changing
technical and administrative needs of Texas cities, towns and
villages; and
WHEREAS, State Representative Charles Evans has
introduced House Bill 2092, which will provide formal State
recognition at a no-cost support of the tax payers of the State
of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Certification Program has domonstrated its
quality by improving the performance of the City Clerk and has
lowered the cost of Municipal Government for the citizens of the
communities; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas,
supports the recognition of the Texas Municipal Clerks
Certification Program and urges the State Legislators to approve
passage of House Bill 2092.
THAT copies of this resolution will be forwarded to
members of the area State Legislators.
