A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
IN SUPPORT OF THE CITY OF CIBOLO'S COMMUNITY DEVELOP-
MENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION FOR FUNDING TO PROVIDE
FOR A FIRE STATION ON THE NORTH SIDE OF TOWN, AND
SEPARATED FROM THE SOUTH SIDE OF TOWN BY THE SOUTHERN
PACIFIC RAILROAD SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, current development trends indicate strong residential
construction north of the Southern Pacific Railroad System cutting through
both of our communities; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of a fire station north of the
Southern Pacific Railroad System in Cibo10 would provide for the safety
and welfare of homes and businesses (i.e., Cibo10 Industrial Park), in the
area currently lacking adequate protection; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the City Counc i1 strongly expresses its full support of
the City of Cibo10's efforts in obtaining funding for the construction of
a fire station.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas,
feel a project of this type has a high priority for CibID10 and its surround-
ing area, due to the possible hazard of a delay caused by the Railroad
System. This will not only benefit Cibo10, but will also provide additional
fire security to its neighboring cities and surrounding county. We, the
City of Schertz City Council recommend funding for this project with no
reservations.
