A RESOLUTION
SUPPORTING A CLASS I HORSE RACING TRACK IN NORTH
EAST BEXAR COUNTY
"
WHEREAS, the citizens of the State of Texas and of Bexar
County have strongly voted their support for pari-mutual wagering and
horse racing; and
WHEREAS, properties in Northeast Bexar County are strategic-
ally and ideally located, and are most assessable to the citizens of the
Greater Austin-San Antonio Corridor, including those of the Austin-Round
Rock Complex, San Marcos, New Braunfels, Schertz, Seguin, the Metrocom
cities, San Antonio and the adjoining counties; and
WHEREAS, the development of a class I race track facility
will add new jobs and economic growth within the gateway to the Greater
Austin-San Antonio Corridor; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Northeast Bexar County of the Randolph
Metrocom have the unique combination of cities working together that
encourages and supports economic development to coordinate the infra-
structure and are cities which have the stable political attitude for
this growth; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz supports a race
track in Northeast Bexar County and encourages all citi zens of the city
and area to take an active, aggressive part in bringing to the Austin-
San Antonio Corridor in Northeast Bexar County the most successful race
track in the State of Texas.
