A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
CONSTRUCTION OF WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the Ci ty Council of the City of Schertz,
Texas (the Ci ty), has heretofore authorized the advertisement
for bids for the construction of a 16" waterline along Schertz
Parkway; and
WHEREAS,

completed; and
pursuant to such advertisement for bids, a
and said Schertz Parkway waterline has been
WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department had agreed to
acquire and make available to the City the right-of-way
necessary to connect the Schertz Parkway waterline to the
existing water distribution system of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department has experienced
delays in Obtaining the necessary right-of-way and has advised
the City that it will be necessary to acquire all or a portion
of such right-Of-way by eminent domain proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the owner of
Savannah Square subdivision has agreed to make available the
right-of-way necessary to connect the Schertz Parkway waterline
to the existing water distribution system; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has advised that unless the

distribution system of the City; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS:

Section 1: That the recitals contained in the
preamble hereof are hereby found to be true, and such recitals
are hereby made a part of this resolution for all purposes and
are adopted as a part of the judgment and findings of the City
Council of the City of Schertz, Texas.
Section 2: That the City Engineer is hereby
authorized and directed to immediately complete plans and
specifications for the construction of a 12" waterline
connecting the Schertz Parkway 16" waterline to the existing
water distribution system of the City.
Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to seek proposals for the construction of a 12"
waterline connecting the Schertz Parkway 16" waterline to the
City's existing water distribution system pursuant to plans and
specifications prepared by the City Engineer.
Section 4: The City Manager is further di rected to
submit the proposals received to the City Council at the
earliest possible date for their review and the award of a
contract for the construction of said 12" waterline.
