Marge moved that we accept the treasurer's report. David seconded. Motion carried. Elva Garza, Collection Dev~lopment Consultant with the San Antonio Area Library System was present. ~ach board member had received a copy of the collection evaluation and was invited to ask questions or make comments in rel]ard to the evaluation. Elva Garza stated that the money received from the state is based on the amount of money spent on materials. David asked what she would recommend for emphasis in the next five years. Miss Garza recommended emphasis on additional staff and increasing the hours that the libarary is open. She said to continue the weeding process already begun by the librarian. It was also suggested that we spend more money on books. It was decided to have our regular board meeting on the first Thursday of the monthy through Decembnr 1990. The next board meeting will be Thursday, E-)(:;:,pt E'mbE'l'-' G, 1. 'YJO. Gail advised that she went to Seguin. She has turned in Manager. Gail advised that sales tax from sales in the book store will have to be reported quarterly; however, this can be done through the city report. The present plan is to have the book store open one day a week monthly. Gail is to find out when the volunteer will be able to work.
