LAB 11-01-1990 ~ A " LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES The Library Advisory Board met on Thursday, November 1, 1990, at 7:30 P.M. She advised that persons with overdue books were sent post cards and letters and were contacted by telephone. If the overdue books were not returned, the matte0 was turned over to the court. Forty-five (45) cases have been turned over. to the COUt~t . Gail stated that a work order has been and the city will take care of it. put in for a sidewalk, Margaret reported that the meeting room policy has been turned over to the city, and the city manager will determine the policy for the use of the meeting room. There was a discussion concerning advisory and governing boards. The library board is an advisory board. It was not clear what the duties of an advisory board should be. It was ~uggested th~t we ask Mr. Sweatt ~6 come to ~ meeting (p~obably in January) to advise us and to answer any questions that we might have. Connie advised that she had not yet sent out the letter to the ~andolph Area Genealogy Society. She had written a draft of the letter which she read to us. It was agreed the letter should be shown to Mr. Sweatt. Gail will send along a memo providing background information. Connie appointed Julie, Mary and Ruth to a nominating committee. At our December meeting the committee is to present a list of members willing to serve on the board again and also a slate of officers for the upcoming year.
