Gail reported that she purchased a micro-wave for the employee at'ea. Gail advised that the patron who had complained about the book on witchcraft wanted to know what had been decided. She advised him that board member~ were still checking on it. Margaret and Ruth read the book and stated in their opinion it should be left on the shelf. Gail will call the patron to let him know of this decisiol".. Ruth reported the grant in the amount of $20,530.00 was ready. She has prepared a cover letter and proposal. Ruth and Tony will check the lists of foundations and submit the grant request to as many as possible. Mat"gat"et t"ep,:.t"ted that Mt"s. A discussion was held concerning the work on the library addition and the I"leed f,:,t" anothet" wc,t"k day. It was decided that if a work day was needed, board members would be called. The appointment of an audit committee was discusseed. The question arose as to whether it was still necessary to have an abdit committee since the city is now using a computer and they have a yearly audit done. It was decided to look into this further before appOinting an audit committee. The chairman appointed Gerald, Margaret and Marge to a nominating committee. The committee is to present a list of members willing tc, set"ve agair, at the Novembe~" meetil".g. A slate of officet"s should be presented at the December meeting. It was decided to have the dance and auction on February 17, 1990. If that date was not available, an alternate of February 10, 1990, was suggested. Ruth is to check with the VFW to verify the availability of the date decided upon.
