SCHERTZ PUBLIC LmRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on February 2, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. with the following members
present:
John Grosskopf
Patty Lovelady

Ruth Tienor
Margaret Riley
Julie Parr
Juan Thorn
Minutes for the January meeting were presented. Corrections were made. Ruth
moved to accept the minutes, and Patty seconded.
Treasurer's ,Report: No official report was available due to problems with the city's
report. Julie reported that in January, $292.62 from bookstore sales, $200 in
memorial donations from Autumn Winds, and $525 in other donations were
deposited.
Librarian's Report:
-The grant monies were for $46,000 instead of $49,000 as requested. Some
software requests were cut out of the grant
-Policy will need to be developed for Internet/computer use.
-Gail has received copies of the library entrance plan from Bryan Smith. There was
no charge for these. The library. entrance will be completed in conjunction with the
city projects. This will begin in June.
-The LAB will be approved at the February 3 meeting.
Committee Reports: Policy Committee-Revised p. 4 was handed out.
Internet policy will be discussed and developed at the March LAB meeting. Gail
will have sample policies for board members to review.
The motion to adjourn was made by Ruth and seconded by Julie.
The next LAB meeting will be on March 1, 1998 at 7:00 p.m.
