Gail is hoping things will be completed and running by June 15. -Mr. Sweatt attended a workshop and came back with a policy on Internet use. The policy is very complete and Gail feels it would be appropriate for the library's use. She will make copies for members of the Policy Committee to review. The Policy Committee can make suggestions or changes and the present policy to the LAB for approval. -The Bookstore Committee was asked to make suggestions about perhaps changing the hours the bookstore is open, or maybe closing it. Sue Vander Heyden, who has been the main volunteer, is losing interest and is not physically able to spend as much time working in the bookstore. Keeping volunteers has also been a problem. Gail asked the Bookstore Committee, as well as the rest of the LAB, if the bookstore should be phased out since that space could be used for the children's area. Suggestions were made to reduce the number of days the store is open to just Tuesdays and Fridays, and to wait until after the actual move of the children's area is made before considering phasing out the bookstore. -Plans for the Fourth of July Parade were discussed. The LAB will meet on July 3 to help decorate the float. The theme is "Saluting Our Armed Forces." The hat from last year will be transformed into a cake with the slogan "We Salute Our Armed Forces on America's Birthday." The motion to adjourn was made by Barbara Quates, with a second by Julie. The motion carried. The next LAB meeting will be on July 6, 1998, at 7:00 p.m. TREASURER'S REPORT FOR MAY 1998 CASH ACCOUNT PREVIOUS BALANCE INCOME BOOKSTORE DONATIONS MISC.
