LAB 05-05-1997
SCHERTZ PUBLIC LffiRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on May 5, 1997. Members present were: Ruth Tienor, John
Grosskopf, Julie Parr, Pattie Lovelady, Margaret Riley and Gail Douglas.
The minutes for the May LAB were presented. Margaret made the motion to
accept the minutes. Ruth seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Treasurer's Report:
Julie presented February, March, and April reports. Ruth made a motion to accept
the reports. Margaret seconded. The motion passed.
Librarian's Report:
- There is a new librarian in Seguin. Gail will meet to talk over county budget.
- We are now hooked up to Internet. (Tex-Net is the carrier)
- 1875 more stats this year than last year at this time.
- The reading club will begin June 4, 1997. Linda Mattoon will lead the club.
Drawings will be held for donated prizes.
- The bookstore continues to do well with sales continuing to increase.
- The theme for the Fourth of July parade will be "Keep the Free in Freedom".
Plans will be completed at the June meeting.
Committee Reports:
A copy of the bookstore policy was handed out to add to the general policy.
A motion to adjourn was made by Ruth and seconded by Julie. The next LAB
meeting will be held on June~ 1997.
