LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
the LAB met in regular session on March 1, 1993
Members Present Margaret Riley who conducted the meeting.
Julie Parr, Dan Scofield, Ruth Tienor, Mary Mc Allister, Connie Brison, Gail
Douglas, Librarian and Joe Potemps, Council Rep.
The minutes were presented. Ruth moved that they be accppted. Mary seconded it .
The motion carried. There was no Treasurer's report since it was just the 1st of
March and it was not ready. $120.35 was collected by the bookstore in February.
Librarian's Report: See report.
Gail went to Austin on Legislative Day and had appointments with 6 representatives.
Gail conducted a workshop on 2/19/93 about Local Area Networks but feels like she
wants to chick into qutomating the library instead. Gail reported that June Hughes would
like to purchase a monument to be placed between the two concrete benches, that would hold
the plaque listing the original board members/council members. Gail reported that
Connie wrote to the Geneology Society. They have not responded.
Committee reports: Policy --Margaret discussed a few changes to be made but it was agreed
that we need to work on policy revisions and updates after the book sales.
Book Store --Sale is the 26, 27 and 28 of March. Thursday afternoon will be work day
to set up as close to 4:30 as possible. Presale for board members and volunteers is
7:30 Thurs/ Wednesday 4:30-5:00 to clear out the store room inthe book store.
New business: America Stands for Freedom--Theme for the 4th of July parade which
will be on July3rd. ~ said that he would write the thank you to Mrs.Friesenhahn
for the 2000 books.
Mrs. Lemm's son in law who works at Penney's gave the library microfiche readers and
carousels and Gail will write a thank you note.
