LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The LAB met in regular seSS10n on 4/5/93
Members Present: Richard Cervantes, Margaret Riley, Julie Parr! Ga~lSDoug~as,
Ruth Tienor, Mary Mc Allister, Connie Brison, Sylvia Marbach, and Gerald Thurman.
The minutes were not presented. They were not ready.
The Treasure'-s report was presented. Ruth made a motion to accept it and Gerald
seconded it the motion carried.
Librarian's Report:
Statistics: See attached.
Gail reported that a letter to Connee from K-J 97 ie: Jullie williams will announce that
the book sale will be here at the Schertz Library on March 26,27 and 28th.
A letter from the Daughters of the Republic was read by Gail thanking the Library
for the document that was donated.
The week of April 19th will be Nat'l Library week--KJ97's Julie Williams will be guest
columnist and Randy Travis will attend. A clown will be arranged. Board members are
asked to attend Tues. or Thurs.
Amnesty Week will also be that week and will be arranged.
Committee Reports: Building shelves were moved by a gentleman from Parks and Recreation.
Book Store Comittee: Book Store sale did well Store.Room was cleaned out well. Books
were weeded out. Richard suggested that after the storage room should be weeded out
every year. Gail mentioned that there is a magazine dealer what will buy old car
magazines and that can be a source of income.
New Business: Mary suggested nominating Clare for Schertz volunteer. Also it was suggestec
a letter of appreciation and a $10.00 gift certificate from Pat's Place be included.
Gail will get the application for nominating Clare. Mary made the motion and Clare
2nd it. The motion passed. Connie will write the letter. Margaret asked about the
geneology people. There has been no word or correspondence.
Ruth moved to adjourn and Sylvia seconded it.
