SCHERTZ PUBLIC LffiRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on March 1, 2004 with the following members present:

Minutes: Minutes for the February 2004 meeting were presented. Ruth moved to accept
the minutes and Julie seconded. The motion carried.
Treasurer's Report: Julie presented the January report. The city's figures matched
Julie's showing $8,613.17 in the cash account, and $11,440.26 in the investment account.
Ruth moved to accept the treasurer's report and Lisa seconded. The motion carried.
Librarians' Report:
. Melissa reported that the circulation desk would be shipped by March 21. The
library will close on Friday, March 26 to install the desk.
. There was a 9% increase in circulation for the month of February, 2004. The
number was 18,721 this year compared to 17,117 last year. Story time has
increased 16% for the month.
. Melissa has started to work on the annual report and should be finished by the end
of the month.
. Gail has an appointment about the lights for the parking lot. She will find out the
cost, then discuss with Mark Marquez.
. Gail, Sandy, some of the parks employees, and community restitution people will
pick up trash along Hwy. 78 on March 12.
. A new pavilion for the pool has arrived and will be installed soon.
. An architect has the plans of the Good Shepherd building and is going over them
for renovation. The building may be used for the library book store, but no final
plans are definite.
. The men's restroom in the library has been remodeled. The women's restroom
will be remodeled soon as well as the ADA restroom.

Ruth moved to adjourn the meeting. Julie seconded. The motion carried.
The next meeting will be on Monday, April 5, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room at
the Community Center.
