SCHERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on December 6, 2004 with the following members/guests present:

Ruth conducted the meeting.
Minutes: Minutes were presented. Julie moved to accept and Margaret seconded. Minutes
were approved.
Treasurer's Report: Julie presented the report. Mary moved to accept and Margaret
seconded. Report approved.

Librarian's Report:
· Library was closed for 4 ~ days due to holidays and flooding.
· Stats were 18,071 which is a 12% increase from last year.
· 262 attended story time.
· Community Services received a prize for the Polar Express float in the Schertz
Christmas Parade.
· Melissa reported that the bid for the furniture (chairs) is high. She is waiting on an
estimate for items for the children's area.
· Gail received new plan for parking lot lighting. Only 2 lights/poles will be needed as
foot lamps are higher than previous lights. Bids will go out soon.
Nominating Committee: The following names were submitted as LAB members:
Pattie Lovelady (remainder of term 1/04 - 12/05)
Simone Bailey (term 1/05 - 12/06)
Barbara Ricks (term 1/05 - 12/06)

The following slate of officers for 2005 was presented:

Vice-Chairman - Mary McAllister
Secretary - Barbara Ricks
Treasurer - Julie Parr
Margaret moved to accept the nominees. Julie seconded. Motion passed.
