LAB 04-03-2003
SCHERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on 3 ~ 2003 with the following members present:

Minutes: Minutes were presented. Jennifer moved to approve the minutes, and Lisa seconded.
Minutes were approved.
Treasurer's Report: Julie had no reports to present at this time.
Librarian's Report:
Stats were up 19,588, which is a 32% increase over last March.
Gail requested $500.00 from the board to have the library host "Potter at the Playscape"
in June for the 25th Anniversary of the library. The money will be for the rental of the
original movie. A motion was made by Mary to approve funds and was seconded by
Julie.
May 1 st will be the community forum for the bond issue.
New shelving has arrived and looks great.
Melissa is planning the summer program.
There was a security breech with the internet and it had to be shut down. The DSL will
be utilized while investigation is in progress.
Committee Reports: No committee reports at this time.
New Business: No new business at this time.
Old Business:
- We will host the "Potter at the Playscape" instead of the reception on the 1st Sunday in
June. We will still do the gift certificate give away (one a week) in honor of the
anniversary.
Report from Council Representative:
Regina reported that the Big Splash was a success and went well.
Election will be 1st Saturday in May, with early voting on the 14th and 15th of April.
Julie moved to adjourn the meeting. Mary seconded. Motion carried. The next meeting will
be Monday, May 5th at 7:00 p.m.
