SCHERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on 5 May 2003 with the following members pres~nt:

Minutes: Minutes were presented. Ruth moved to approve the minutes, and Julie seconded.
Minutes were approved.
Treasurer's Report: Julie had no reports to present at this time.
Librarian's Report:
Gail is in Dallas.
June 21 st will be Potter at the Playscape.
Summer reading program will begin June 5th and will be "Mission Possible: Spy a book."
It will be a two part program with a reading club and story times for preschool and school
aged children.
There are 3 part time clerk positions available.
Th~ security scare from the computer system was NOT a security breech, just an alert. It
was a possible place where hackers could get in, but the problem has been taken care of
The library is switching to Road Runner, but will keep DSL as a backup.
Committee Reports: No committee reports at this time.
New Business: Not sure if there will be a 4th of July float this year.
Old Business: No old business at this time.
Report from Council Representative: No reports at this time.
Margaret moved to adjourn the meeting. Julie seconded. Motion carried. The next meeting
will be Monday, June 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
