Guadalupe County has increased funding to $112,000 which was up from the $96,000 funded last year. Nominating Committee: All the board members whose terms are up in December would like to return to the LAB. New Business: The need for a new circulation desk set-up was discussed. Melissa presented the following options: Option I - Do away with the entire circulation desk and replace it with new furniture. Cost would be $11,000-$12,000. Option 2 ~ Rework the present configuration, include a lower comer unit, and replace the counter tops. Cost would be approximately $5,030 plus shipping and handling. There would also be an installation cost of $350. Discussion followed. The lower comer unit would hopefully eliminate children's injuries. It would make the circulation desk wheelchair accessible. Also with the possibility of a new library in the future it was questioned whether an investment in new furniture would be good use of money at this time. A Lone Star Library grant will be written. The amount of the grant is $3,500.
