SCHERTZ PUBLIC LmRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on December 1, 2003 with the following members present:
Simone Bailey Margaret Riley Julie Parr Ruth Tienor Barbara Ricks
Gail Douglas Cindy Wait Mary McAllister
Minutes: Minutes were presented. Margaret moved to accept and Barbara seconded.
Minutes were approved
Treasurer's Report: No complete treasurer's report available at this time. Julie is
reviewing the September report and is finding some inconsistencies. Julie reported that
$326.84 Bookstore money, $75 memorial money, and $11.42 miscellaneous donations were
deposited.

Librarian's Report:
· The parking lot is near completion. Handicapped parking is not correct. Book drop
has been installed. Lighting will be put up in the future.
· Tomorrow the library will be decorated for the holidays.
· Gail and Melissa meet on Friday mornings.
. Cannelita is back working.
· On December 15, the new children's librarian will begin.
· More volunteers are needed for the Bookstore. The schedule will be reviewed and
discussed at the January LAB meeting.
· Gail would like to present the new slate of LAB officers to City Council on Dec. 16.
Nominating Committee: The following slate of officers for 2004 was presented:
Chairman - Simone Bailey
Vice-Chairman - Cindy Wait
Secretary - Barbara Ricks
Treasurer - Julie Parr
Mary moved to accept the slate. Ruth seconded. Motion passed.
New Business: none
Old Business: Work time for the Christmas float will be on Friday, December 5th.
Ruth moved to adjourn the meeting. Julie seconded. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be January 5, 2004 at 7:00 p.m.
