SCHERTZ PUBLIC LmRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on January 7, 2002 with the following members present:
Pia Jarman Julie Parr Ruth Tienor Margaret Riley Simone Bailey
Jennifer Wallace Norma Head Gail Douglas Mary McAllister
Minutes: Minutes were presented. Margaret moved to approve the minutes, and Julie
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report: Julie presented the Treasurer's report. Ruth moved to accept the
report and Mary seconded. Motion carried.
Librarian's Report:
· New library hours began on January 2nd. On Sunday the circulation was 185. After the
first few days, everything seems to be going well. Patrons seem to be happy with the new
hours.
· The new staff is trained.
· Gail has interviewed candidates for the Children's Librarian position. At this time, Sue
VanDerHayden continues to do the story hour.
e · Approximately $3400 has been received from the Lone Star Library.
Committee Reports:
Policy Committee: Copies of the updated Library Policy were distributed.
New Business: none
Old Business: none
Report from Council Representative: Norma reported on playscape progress. A Leathers
and Associates representative will be here to meet with the various committees on Saturday,
January 19th.
Margaret moved to adjourn the meeting. Julie seconded. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be February 4th at 7:00 p.m.
