SCHERTZ PUBLIC LmRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES
The LAB met on April 1, 2002 with the following members present:

Minutes: Minutes were presented. Margaret moved to approve the minutes, and
Ruth seconded. Minutes were approved.

check from Autumn Winds and another check have not been credited to the library account.
Julie is looking into this matter.
Librarian's Report:
· February stats were 43% higher in 2002 compared to February 2001. March 2002 stats
~~~% higher than March 2001.
· have been stolen. Now they are kept behind the desk.
· Some children have been causing some problems in the library due to the close proximity
to the playscape.
· The Texas State Librarian is visiting the library on Friday, April 5th.
· The Texas Book Festival grant has been denied.
· The annual report to the State Library has been completed and sent.
· The library has won an award from the Alamo Library Association. The Uncle Sam float
project was submitted as the entry.

New Business: none
Old Business: Library board member applications has been given out.
Report from Council Representative: The city audit has been completed and everything
was found to be satisfactory. The city is looking at various plots for the New Community
Center. The Grand Opening Ceremony for the Playscape will be April 14th at 2 p.m.
Ruth moved to adjourn the meeting. Mary seconded. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be May 6th at 7:00 p.m.
