LAB 09-10-2001 e e e SCHERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD (LAB) MINUTES The LAB met on September 10,2001 with the following members present: Barbara Ricks Julie Parr Ruth Tienor Margaret Riley Gail Douglas !vIary MC.Allister Minutes: !\.11nutes were presented. Julie moved to approve the minutes, and Ruth seconded the motion. IVfotion carried. Treasurer's Report: Julie presented the August report. Ruth moved to approve the reports and lVfargaret seconded. !\.1otion canied. Librarian's Report: · Gail presented the Library Budget to City Council. Her budget was well received. . Stats are up. · ALCO will build a storage shed behind the library. · TIP grant ha.c;; been received. Committee Reports: none New Business: · Henry has submitted a letter of resignation. · User fees were discussed. Ruth motioned that beginning October 1st, the non-resident user fee be waived. Julie seconded. lvfotion carried. · Placing filters on the computers was discussed. The Child Internet Protection Act has passed. Ruth moved that the computers will be filtered and at the end of 6 months the board reevaluate. Mary seconded. lvfotion carried. · Margaret moved that $100 be donated to the Kllnberty Park Fund. Ruth seconded. !\.10tion canied. Old Business: none Report from Council Representative: no report as Norma i'} out of town. Ruth moved to adjourn the meeting. Julie seconded. Motion carried.
