Two day care center programs. Attended work shop at Fine Arts, San Antonio Library. Very beneficial. A.V. equipment discussed. Money for A.V. equipment and books will be available from state. Marg~!~J~~d Linn attended San Anto:hio~1ain Resource Center semi-annual~ meeting. Fil~rmaln~nance will be done twice a year By District 10 - no charge to us. All money for books from state can now Be used on any type of books instead of just certain areas. We have to spend all money and meet certain guidelines in order to get full amount next year from District 10. The speaker's bureau has been discontinued. The Lionesses agreed to purchase six film strip cassettes on "Holidays." Federal Revenue check was received. Ninteen books were purchased from Pathfinders Co. Linn obtained from Gift Room at- the San Antonio Public Library, 25 children's books, one set World Book and one set Encyclopedia Britannica. ~~9k Committee has cataloged - Adult - 7284, Young Adult - 1139, Junior - 2172 Records - 139. The committee will meet March 4, 1980 to sort books for storage and Book Sale. Budget and Finance - Ruth visited Senator Traeger to ascertain if monies were available for libraries. He gave her some ideas on where to go for information. Representative Kazan's office should be able to help. Ruth will contact him. Admendments to budget being considered By city manager. Twenty four to thirty hour work week for Linn at $30.00 week. There is a $200.00 increase in travel. An~increase of six hours. Travel and professional dues for Linn and filing and put~book cabinet for Library.. Texas Library Dues - $13.00. Annual Library Association Dues $25.00 - Filing Cabinet for Library $140.00 - Paperback Rack - $150.00 Building and Property - Henry will start building shelves soon. lumber donated (1' x 10') to use. Sign on building - "Restaurant Parking". LEarl forgot. but To be done by Mr. Sawyer. Sign on lot for library parking availability basis. Page 2 Publicity & Public Relations - Letters to eighty (80) organizations with information on what Library off'~rs and Library is doing. Book Sale - on Cable - posters made- all areas media will be used. Nominating Committee - No Report. Policy and Evaluations - By-laws - amendments were presented by Ruth. New by-laws will be typed. Edith made motion amendments be accepted. Henry Seconded. Motion passed. Policy - Julie read changes. All had already been voted on.
