LIHRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The Library Advisory Hoard met in regular session on Monday, June 3, 19t15
at 7:30 p.m.

Julie presented the Treasurer's report.

The Collection stands at: Adult Volumes - 7703; Young Adult - 122tl; and
Juvenile - 2tl46.
The Universal City Library will celebrate its opening on June e. Gail
will arrange for a plant to be sent.
Margaret and Gail attended an Oral Hist6ryWorkshop in Austin. Gail
has begun an oral history tape with Mrs. Wuest.
Gail will be sharing boOkmarks, films, and a speaker .(ex-Thunderbird pilot)
with the summer program at Marion.
A budget proposal needs to be submitted to Mr. Gilmore. The main items
are books, service contracts, and salary increase.
FINANCE
The Committee will meet to prepare the budget proposal. The need for books
is to be remembered when this budget is prepared.

BUILDING
The City will pay for the sprinkler repair. Another sprinkler is broken and
it is felt that the job was not done properly. Gail will speak with Mr. Gilmore.

Tony reported on a meeting of the FOSL and Advisory Board officers. Items
discussed included membership, meeting dates and proposed projects.of the
FOSL group.

Connie Hrison was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Board. This term will
run through Dec. 'tlS.
Ruth received an update from Mr. Gilmore on new businesses in the area.
A new dedication plaque for the library will be made.

Dear Judge Sagebiel,
The Schertz Public Library asks to be a recipient of county Federal
Revenue Sharing Funds for this year. We are the primary source of
Library services for the people of Schertz and Cibolo, plus some
unknown number of Guadalupe County citizens residing in outlying
areas of the western portion of the county.
The combined .population of Schertz and Cibolo is estimated by the
city managers to be approximately 12,700, and growing rapidly. To
continue to provide adequate library service to an expanding popu-
lation, we need the continued support provided by Federal Revenue
Sharing Funds.
If the county's share is at or near last year's.'level, we request
that the Schertz Public Library be allocated funds on a basis of
$1.50 per capita for the population of Schertz and Cibolo, or
$19,050. If the received funds are significantly less, our request
is to be considered for a proportionate amount.
