LAB 11-04-1985 ", , LiBRARY ADViSORY BOARD MINUTES The library Advisory Board met in regular session on Monday, November 4, 1985 at 7;30 p.m. Members present: Tony Paulson - Chairman Ruth Tienor - Vice-Chairman Julie Parr - Treasurer Mary McAllister - Secretary Margaret Riley Fred Ross Gene Weaver Ex-Officio - Gail Douglas, Librarian Adolph Aguilar, City Council Representative Mr. Brannon spoke concerning Revenue Visitors: County Commissioner Jim Brannon. Sharing. Fred moved to accept the minutes of the October meeting. Ruth seconded. TREASURER'S REPORT Julie presented the Treasurer's report. Fred moved to accept the report and Margaret seconded. In her report Julie stated that $1787.50 Revenue Sharing had been received. LIBRARIAN'S REPORT Stats: Resident cards issued - 74 Non-resident cards - 53 User's Fees 1 Copier Fees - $41.60 Fines, ETC. - 24.55" Circulation - 3574 Reported by Gail~ The Collection stands at: Adult Volumes 8044; Young Adult, 1283; and Juvenille, 3030. The bookdrop has been recovered but it is not usable. The library helped sponsor a booth at the Guadalupe Co~ Fair. This booth provided good public relations for the library. Margaret and Gail attended the Texas Library Association District 10 Annual Meeting held on November 2. Gail attended the Texas Municipal League Conference in San Antonio. OLD BUSINESS The Nominating Committee reported that all board members whose terms are expiring have consented to serve another term. Earl Hartzog was appointed as a board member to fill the vacancy created by Doris Courtney's resignation. The brick campaign for the library was; discussed. The bill to the City of Schertz will be paid (approx. $4015) before the brick campaign will begin. Gail has received her pay raise. .~ ,#' NEW & MISC. BUSINESS An appreciation gift for Doris will be presented at an upcoming meeting. Liz Mueller will be contacted to see if the Humane Society will be helping with the Dance & Auction in February. Committees for the Dance were appointed as follows: Dance Committee Chairman - Fred Auction - Gene Coordinator wi Humane Society - Margaret Entertainment - Ruth and Tony Finance - Julie Decorations - Mary Food - Gail Publicity - Connie Set-up & Clean-up - Earl Margaret attended a State Library Sesquicentennial Exhibit Opening Ceremony in Austin. Julie moved that the meeting adjourn.
