10-16-1984 r " '. e PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council conducted a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 16, 1984 in the Municipal Complex Council Chamber, 1400 Live Oak Road. Members present were as follows: PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION THOMAS YARLING, VICE-CHAIRMAN DARWIN PEEK, SECRETARY MERWIN WILLMAN BOB ANDREWS JAMES HARDEN CITY COUNCI L EARL SAWYER) MAYOR CHUCK SHARPE ROSS HOOVER ADOLPH AGUILAR KEN GREENWALD HAL BALDWIN MEMBERS ABSENT e JOHN LINEBARGER) CHAIRMAN RAY STANHOPE CITY STAFF EARL HARTZOG, PLANNING COORDINATOR ALICE AUSTIN, DEPUTY CITY SECRETARY JIMMY GILMORE) CITY MANAGER ,#1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Sawyer called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. and turned the meeting over to the Planning and Zoning Commission Vice-Chairman Yar1ing. #2. PUBLIC HEARING: Zoning Change #64 To receive input from the public on a specific use permit by Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative) Inc. to place a ninety-five foot tall self-supporting microwave tower adjacent to their office building in Schertz. The minutes of this public hearing is a duplication of the City Coun~il mi nutes. #3. SPECIAL PRESENTATION BY GVEC Milton Hines, General Manager of GVEC) was unable to attend the meeting) so the presentation was cancelled. #4. ADJOURNMENT OF PUBLIC HEARING Vice-Chairman Yarling turned the meeting back over to Mayor Sawyer who adjourned the Public Hearing at 7:26 P.M. e ~ e e e " The Planning and Zoning Commission reconvened in a special session after the- Joint Public Hear-ing- ,in the Municipal Complex Conference Room. #1. CALL TO ORDER Vice-Chairman Yarling called the meeting to order at 7:34 P.M. #2. CONSIDER AND MAKE RECOMMENDATION: Zoning Change #64 After a short discussion) Darwin Peek made a motion to recommend approval of the zoning change. Bob Andrews seconded the motion and the vote was unanimbus in favor. #3. GENERAL DISCUSSION Earl Hartzog advised the Commission on the item on the agenda for the next meeting. There was discussion on the Oak Run Development sign along FM 3009 and the status on the plat. Earl Hartzog advised the Commission the plat was given a final approval by the Commission, however it had not been signed as recorded with the County. The plat is needed to sell lots and holding the plat is our security the site construction will be completed by the developer. #4. ADJOURNMENT Vice-Chairman Yarling adjourned the meeting at 8:00 P.M.
