PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES

The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Schertz convened in
Special Session on Monday, August 20, 1979, at 7:00 PM in the Municipal
Complex Conference Room, 1400 Live Oak Road. The following members were
present:

#1 CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Aguilar called to order the Special Session of the Planning
and Zoning Commission at 7:00 PM.

READING OF MINUTES

Mr. Linebarger moved to accept the minutes as read. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Sharp. The motion carried unanimously.

CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED ALTERNATIVES TO GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
ZONING ALONG PM 3009
Chairman Aguilar opened the discussion with the proposed alternatives
that Greenfield Village had offered;-
Mr. Hal Baldwin was asked to address Planning and Zoning Commission
on the flood plain and traffic safety of the area in and around Elbel
Road and PM 3009.
Mr. Merwin Willman stated that in his investigation of the area he had
found that there was a fifty foot easement West of Elbel running par-
allel to PM 3009.
Mr. Linebarger stated that the Country Corner Concept (Cluster Zoning)
could be considered for PM 3009 at major intersections. Also discussed,
was length of zoning at these intersections, 600 feet was mentioned.
#4 RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL"
Mr. Greenwald made a motion as amended b)L Mr. Linebarger that, Ci ty
Staff notify City~Council in writing that:
,
Planning and Zoning Commission has looked at all ,the alternatives offered
by Greenfield Village and City Staff; listen to the Citizens of Greenfield;
and has recommended that the City Council accept the Proposed Ordinance as
originally submitted.

The motion was seconded by Mr. Willman. The motion carried unanimously.

#5 GENERAL DISCUSSION
Planning and Zoning Commission welcomed the new building inspector,
Mr. Bill Hamm.
Chairman Aguilar asked the Commission to continue its review of the
Proposed Subdivision Ordinance, pages 16-30, at the next Regular
Session on Tuesday, August 28, 1979.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by Chairman
Aguilar at 8:05 PM.
