PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Schertz convened
in Regular Session, Tuesday, August 12, 1980, at 7:00 PM, in the
Municipal Conference Room, 1400 Live Oak Road. The following
members were present:

111 CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Aguilar called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
#2 READING OF MINUTES - Jury 22, 1980
Mr. Linebarger made the motion to accept the minutes as
written. Mr. Willman seconded the motion. The motion was
carried unanimously.
113 PC - 39 LOST MEADOW UNIT III
The variance request by Mr. Larry Schednel was postponed until
such a time a preliminary blueline plat can be reviewed by the
Commission.
There was discussion relating to variance for curbs and gutters.
Mr. Greenwald said that curbs and gutters would probably detract
from the area. Mr. Linebarger discussed the beautiful homes in
Lost Meadow Unit II. Sewers were discussed and Mr. Upton stated
that the homes in Unit II are now on septic tanks.

#5 GENERAL DISCUSSION
The field trip was discussed. The condition of the roads and
the right-of-way access to the property that Balcone Rock Com-
pany propose to install their gravel pit plant was discussed.
Mr. Willman discussed possible alternate routes. Other dis-
cussion by Mr. Linebarger and Mr. Stanhope speculated that the
access right-of-way would probably depend on what was built.
The Lost Meadows Unit I was discussed. The general conditions
of the Mobile Home Park in that area is in deplorable condition
and the Grandfather Clause would prevent rapid improvement. If
the area was annexed into the City Limits, roads would have to
be built and they would be a problem.

Discussion lead to the cleaning up and opening of the Cibolo
Creek. Mr. Sharp mentioned that after the "73" flood. The
Army Corps of Engineers had reviewed the area at one time.
The creek was to be cleared after CCMA had their sewerage
treatment plants built. It was brought out by Mr. Stanhope
that he thought some action should be started cleaning the
creek up.

Chairman Aguilar adjourned the meeting at 7:30 PM so that the
Commission may hear a briefing by Pleas Naylor to the Industrial
Development Committee.
