PLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Schertz convened in
Regular Session, Tuesday, June 23, 1981, in the Municipal Conference
Room, 1400 Live Oak Road. The following members were present:

#1 CALL TO ORDER
#2 READING OF MINUTES: May 26, 1981 Regular Meeting
Chairman Linebarger called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Ray Stanhope made a motion the minutes be accepted as written. Ken
Greenwald seconded and the vote was unanimous in favor of.
Mr. linebarger welcomed new member, Mr. Boswell, to the Planning
and Zoning Commission.
#3 PETITION FOR REZONING
Mr. Linebarger briefed Mr. David Baker on some of the restrictions
associated with the property in the flood plain and proximity to the
City park area. Mr. Kiel stated that no specific business was planned
for the area but it was suitable for apartments and other items on the
ten (10) acres out of the flood plain. The factors of Article XIX,
Section 2.2 of the Zoning Ordinance were reviewed and considered.
Mr. Stanhope made a motion to schedule a Public Hearing; Mr. Boswell
seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously. The Public
Hearing will be scheduled by the City Staff.
#4 STAFF BRIEFING
Mr. Brooks passed out the approved revisions of ordinances and the P.R.U.O.
Ordinance No. 81-S-18.
Mr. Brooks also advised the Commission that a new Building Official has
been employed by the City.

#5 GENERAL DISCUSSION
There was general discussion about Specific Use Permits and how they
can be used to control exceptional requirements.
