RESOLUTION NO. 08-R-09
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS AMENDING THE SUBDMSION ORDINANCE 90-S-
29 ARTICLE III, DESIGN STANDARDS, SECTION 24 PUBLIC SITES
AND OPEN SPACES, AND PROVIDING AND ESTABLISHING NEW
RATES FOR PARKLAND DEDICATION FEES-IN-LIEU OF AND
PARKLAND DEVELOPMENT FEES AS IDENTIFIED IN ARTICLE XI,
PLATTING OF THE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz, Texas (the "City") has established standards and regulations for
Parkland Dedication, and
WHEREAS, The City of Schertz has conducted a study of Parkland Dedication Methodology on
Parkland Dedication Fees and Park Development Costs, and,
. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz desires that the existing parkland dedication
amount be revised to reflect a minimum of one (1) acre for every 101 dwelling units; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz, desires that the existing Fee-in-lieu land
Requirements be increased from $225 to $350, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz, recommends that the City initiate and
establish a Park Development Fee of $650, and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the Parkland Dedication Fees-in-lieu of Land Requirements
and Parkland Development Costs be made a part of the Parkland Dedication and Parkland
Development opportunities of the City of Schertz,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
Section 1. The City Council adopts the new parkland dedication requirement of one (1) acre for
every 101 dwelling units.
Section 2. The City Council adopts the new Fees-in-Lieu of Parkland Dedication of $350.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Schertz, adopts the new fees for Parkland
Development of $650.
Section 4. This Resolution is effective on the date of adoption.
