A RESOLUTION
DIRECTING THE CALLING FOR BIDS FOR "WATER SYSTEM
IMPROVEMENTS" FOR THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, that
The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause the following
Advertisement for Bids to be given and published in the Valley News as
required by law, on March 25th, 1976 and April 1, 1976 and April 8, 1976,
and in such other newspapers or periodicals and on such dates as he shall
determine to be necessary, to wit:
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Separate sealed bids for "WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS" FOR THE
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, will be received by the City of Schertz,
Texas, at the City Hall, Schertz, Texas, until 7:00 o'clock P.M.
on April 20, 1976, and then publicly opened and read aloud.
Any bids received after closing time will be rejected and re-
turned to the bidder unopened.
Copies of the plans and specifications may be examined without
charge at the office of Howard W. Gaddis Consulting Engineer, or
located at 4335 Piedras West (Suite 100 Lamar Building) San Antonio,
Texas 78228, or will be forwarded by the Engineer upon receipt of
a $25.00 deposit. The entire amount of deposit will be refunded
to bona fide bidders if the plans and specifications are returned
in good order within 10 days after the bid opening. One-half of
the deposit will be refunded to non-bidders upon return of the
plans and specifications within 10 days after the bid opening.
Each bid must be accompanied by an acceptable bidder's bond or
certified check in the amount of 5% of the total bid. Bids must
be submitted on bid form furnished. No bid may be withdrawn for
30 days after the above scheduled closing time for the receipt of
bids.
In case of ambiguity or lack of clarity in the statement of prices
in the bid form, the City Council reserves the right to consider
only the prices written in words or to reject the entire bid.
The City Council reserves the right to waive any or all informalities
in the bid and to reject any and all bids.
