DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND-AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE
OF A CONTRACT IN EXCESS OF $2,000.00 WITHOUT BID.
-/WHEREAS,the Volunteer Fire Department of the City of Schertz has,
by resolution, declared an emergency to effect the hard-surfacing of the
Fire Station frontal property, and
WHEREAS, the annual sausage supper held by the Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment scheduled for September 16, 1972 is contingent on the paving of this
area, and
'WHEREAS, Jprior contractura1 agreements consummated by the City insured
the completion of work in this area prior to September 1972 and the planning
for the annual event was predicated on these prior commitments, and
WHEREAS, 'the proceeds derived from the annual event are used to defray
expenses for the Fire Department which constitutes a public service to the
City of Schertz,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS that:
An emergency is hereby declared as provided in Vernon's State Statutes,
Art. 2368a., Sec. 2 and that a contract without bid is hereby authorized to
hard-surface a sufficient portion of the fire department grounds to accommodate
the annual sausage supper event to be held on September 16, 1972.
